The staircase has an extremely strong influence on the aesthetic appearance of the house and is considered the business card of the house. Stairs made of the same paving stones with which the courtyard is lined look very tasteful. Properly matching the colors of the patio and stairs can produce a great result.

For the manufacture of stairs from paving slabs, it is necessary to prepare the base on which the paving stones will be laid. For a single-level staircase, lawn or street curbs can be formed, concreted and pavers can be glued on top. For stairs of more than one tier, it is recommended to fully concrete the base with reinforcement. The pads are glued to the base with elastic, frost-resistant, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant tile adhesive.

The main thing when planning a staircase is to correctly determine the required number of steps, height and width. Properly calculated steps give the stairs convenience, aesthetics, the staircase does not look cluttered. The standard height of the stair step is — 15-17 cm, and its width is 30-40 cm. The steps of the stairs should be tilted slightly forward so that rainwater drains faster, less water is absorbed into the pads, and the likelihood of ice formation in winter is reduced.

When making stairs from paving slabs, it is recommended to rearrange them so as not to get continuous seams. Thus, the steps will be additionally strengthened by “tying” the pads, will be stronger and protected from warping. For stair surfaces, it is best to choose concrete, clinker or stone pavers, as they have a non-slip surface.
