Business center ARTERY (Constitution Ave. 18B, Vilnius) carried out the highest quality welfare works, the total area of which is as much as 6500 m². Various pavements are installed, from paving stones to massive concrete and granite slabs. The 240 m long section of the city's granite staircase has been restored — old stairs have been dismantled and new ones made of historical material have been installed. Asphalting work, dismantling of old concrete coatings, excavation and removal of soil were also carried out. Complex trench foundation installation works between existing communications have been implemented without damaging them. Particular attention was paid to the accuracy of the seams and precise turns of the outdoor coatings. The work was carried out by selected highly qualified specialists.

When laying paving - attention to the smallest details

In the business center ARTERY UAB Gerbūvio projektai has installed 6,500 sq. m of different types of paving and landscaping elements coatings — from simple pavers to massive concrete and granite paving slabs. “The latter were the most difficult to install, since one product weighs more than 100 kg, and the pattern chosen for laying is diagonal in relation to the building. In order to facilitate work productivity, special equipment for installation and cutting of concrete products was used, such as an electric vacuum paver lifter and a mobile concrete seam cutting machine WEBE, which can cut a concrete product to a depth of 15 cm,” says Antanas Magrinas, head of the company “Gerbūvio Projektai”.

This enabled the company to carry out a large number of works of a wide variety of nature: asphalting, mechanized dismantling of old concrete coatings, excavation of the earth and removal of soil, complex installation of trench foundations at great depths between the old electrical communications of the city without damaging them. The city's 240-meter-long granite staircase was even restored: the old staircase was dismantled and new ones were installed from the existing ancient granite city slabs. Welfare works were carried out in several work areas, on a concrete overlay and on the ground. The foundations of each working area were prepared according to different design documentation for the installation of different types of concrete products.

This project was carried out in two phases. In the first, in the summer of 2022, the sidewalk of Constitution Avenue in front of the ARTERY building was redone. Operation of construction equipment, storage of materials, delivery of concrete products, inert materials, mechanisms to work areas has become a real challenge. I even had to use a crane specifically for placing equipment and materials in the work area. Several dozen contractors of different types of work worked at the facility, and access to the construction site, where welfare work was carried out, was initially possible only from the side of Constitution Avenue. It was necessary to work in an organized and planned manner so that all tasks were completed on time, according to the established work schedule and without disturbing each other. The work schedule drawn up before the second stage was changed 6-7 times, but it was possible to adapt to it and overcome all the challenges that arose.

Both the client and the architects demanded, first of all, the highest quality of work. When laying outdoor pavements, high precision was required in setting up turning zones and maintaining precise seams of the pavements, so the most meticulous and experienced specialists of “Goodwill Projects” were selected for this work.

In order to fulfill all obligations on time, the company organized work not only in day, but also in night shifts. At the peak of the work, 4-5 brigades worked in different areas of the facility, a total of about 30 welfare specialists, led by experienced project manager Gediminas Švambari.
